Boxed In Post-Jam Update


After Ludem Dare 50 concluded, I spent the next few days doing bug fixes, some additions and a little bit of polishing. Generally just getting the game to a point I was much happier with ha. 

Was happy with how the game came out in the jam overall though, especially since I'm still getting acquainted with Godot. But the game needed some better balancing since I wasted 1/3 of my time deciding whether to quit or not. Peak productivity

Additions:
-Character final got some animations, they're not good, but much better than a static image.  
-Added a grace period, the game doesn't start until you move kinda thing. 
-Added an extra option to turn on "Fake Crystals" 
-Added options to turn off Music and SFX 
-Added different colour filters to give the game various looks 
-Added an extra option to toggle "Dashing" with space

Improvements:
-Added transitions
-Movement feels much better 
-UI just looks better 
-I Think everything is just better
-Redid the main game space, now looks as I intended

Bug Fixes:
-Fixed Crystal not spawning in the top left corner
-Fixed screen shake, it was just not good to look at, extended the background and such
-Final score not showing,
-*You couldn't die for a stupid amount of time by standing in the centre after 20-30 points...* 
-Other smaller stuff

Known Issues (That I probably won't fix):
-Walking left and right later on in the game while the box is pretty small is still an annoyingly effective strategy to get a good number of points. Nowhere near as effective as the original, but I just can't seem to outright get rid of it... not without making the game feel incredibly unfair at least. 
-
While the game is inheritably random, I couldn't figure out a way to make it feel like you knew where the next crystal would spawn. I tried using indicators, but the way I programmed crystal spawns makes it pretty difficult to figure out a visual representation for where they'll end up.
-Fake Crystals sometimes spawn in the same position as Good Crystals.
